Melanotan II

MT-2 (Melanotan 2) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide with the amino acid sequence Ac-Nle-c[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-NH₂. With a molecular weight of approximately 1024.2 g/mol, it was developed as a metabolically stable analogue of α-MSH. MT-2 exhibits agonist activity at multiple melanocortin receptor subtypes (MCR), binding with high affinity to MC1R — the primary receptor mediating melanogenesis — and demonstrating significant activity at MC3R, MC4R, and MC5R.
